THE 2012 LONG BEACH SPRINT BOAT NATIONALS!!

This is one event that I never miss. The SCSC (Southern California Speedboat Club) has been racing boats at Marine Stadium since 1946!!  Who knows how much longer events like this will go on for, there is even talk of Top Fuel Hydro's coming back to Marine Stadium!! A couple friends of mine are racing in the Grand National class and I'm lookin forward to throwin back some cold ones, bbq'n some hot links and cheering them on!! Go Fast...Turn Left!!

ENDO's NATIONALS

Don't know exactly what year this was, but I'd say it was between '79-81. My Pops entered a 72 Di Marco Runner Bottom with a 427 BB Chevy in the carbureted gas class and ran somewhere close to 90 mph. He also tried to pull his buddy Jeff backwards barefoot to beat the 65mph record and everytime the secondaries would open open up on the dual Holley 750's, it was nothin' but curtains for Jeff!! My favorite part about the ad is where it reads, "COOLERS WELCOME" !! Atlas Van Lines was a huge boat racing sponsor in the day and they also sponsored a Hyrdoplane boat. Endo's Ski Shop is still down on 2nd street in Belmont Shores and although they are primarily a wakeboard shop now, they still have some rad antique solid wood skis still laying around.

Seems lately this blog has turned into mostly Flatbottom Boats and occasional T&A...I'll try and work on getting some surf related photos up and some more random shit, art & etc up but I ain't promising shit!!
